ABOUT REMAN ENGINE

2.5 Liter Engines: The General Motors engines incorporating the 2.5-liter size were used in several of their different vehicles manufacturers and models. First, you have the use of the Pontiac Iron Duke engine that was born in the mid 1970’s, you have the use of the Suzuki H25 2.5-liter engine in the 1990’s and early 2000’s, then you have the more modern 2.5 EcoTec engines for sale in the late 2000’s and early to mid 2010’s.

  • PONTIAC 151 - Dubbed the Pontiac Iron Duke engine for sale, this 2.5 Pontiac engine was used all the way from the early 1977 till the mid 1990’s when it was put out of commission by General Motors Company. This inline 4-cylinder engine, because of its tremendously long production run, went through many changes throughout its lifespan. For example, it started out its life as a carbureted engine and then switched to a throttle body fuel injection (TBI )system in 1982. This engine incorporated an iron block with either reverse-flow cylinder heads (pre 1979 models), crossflow cylinder heads (post 1979 models), or swirl-port heads (post 1982 models). These 2.5 Pontiac engines produced around 90 hp from the factory and had a compression ratio of 9.0:1 after 1982, before that the compression ratio was 8.25:1. It was used as a Chevrolet Vega engine, Pontiac Astre engine, Chevrolet Monza engine, Buick Skyhawk engine, Oldsmobile Starfire, engine, and Pontiac Sunbird
  • H25A - This 2.5 Suzuki engine was used by General Motors in multiple different applications. This engine featured 9.5:1 compression and a horsepower rating of 142 hp. The H25A was a 2.5-liter 60 degree V6 engine that featured an aluminum block and aluminum cylinder heads as well as dual overhead cams (DOHC). This 2.5 Suzuki engine was for sale in the Chevrolet Tracker from 2001-2004.
  • LCV - This was the first of the 2.5-liter EcoTec engines to be produced by General Motors. This engine included a 3rd generation block, dual overhead cams (DOHC), increased cam phasing, and a continuously variable valve timing system which allowed the engine to run at a higher compression ratio of 11.3:1. This 2.5 Chevrolet engine for sale was featured in the 2013-2016 Cadillac ATS, 2013 and 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, 2015-present Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, 2017-2020 Buick Envision, 2017 Buick GL8, 2017-2021 GMC Acadia, and 2019-2021 Chevrolet Blazer.
  • LKW - This 2.5 Chevrolet EcoTec engine was a slightly altered version of the LCV that featured intake valve lift control (IVLC), a new start-stop system, and an all-new two-stage variable valve lift system. This 2.5 EcoTec engine was used as a 2014-2019 Chevrolet Impala engine for sale and a 2014-2015 Chevrolet Malibu engine for sale.
