1.5-Liter Engines: Honda has manufactured numerous engines within the 1.5-liter engine size but the most common sellers in the United States are found in the D and L Honda engine classes. All of the 1.5-liter engines produced by Honda are inline 4-cylinder engines.

• D15B2 - This 1.5 Honda engine was put in the 1988-1991 Honda Civic Wagon and 1988-1991 Honda CRX in the United States. It had a compression ratio of 9.2:1, a single overhead cam (SOHC) with 4 valves-per-cylinder, and produced 92 horsepower.
• D15B7 - This version of the D15 series engine was used as a 1992-1995 Honda Civic engine as well as a 1998-2000 Honda City engine. It produced 102 hp with 9.2:1 compression and a 16-valve single overhead cam (SOHC) cylinder head.
• D15B8 - The D15B8 was a less powerful version of the B7 version of the 1.5 Honda engine for sale as it only produced 70 hp. It came with only two valves per cylinder and had a 9.1:1 compression ratio. It was an option in the 1992-1995 Honda Civic.
• D15Z1 - Another 1.5-liter engine option for the 1992-1995 Honda Civic, this engine had 9.3:1 compression, a 16-valve single overhead cam (SOHC) cylinder head with VTEC technology. It produced 90 hp in its stock form.
• L15A1 - This 1.5 Honda engine has a compression ratio of 10.4:1 and a horsepower rating of 109. It was fitted into the Honda Fit.
• L15A7 - This is a 16-valve variant of the A1 engine that also has a 10.4 compression ratio but produces 118 hp instead and is equipped with VTEC. It was used as a Honda Fit engine and a Honda Jazz engine.
• LEA1 - Based on the L15 engine design, this was a Hybrid version of the Honda 1.5 engine that also featured VTEC with intelligence. It was a 16-valve single overhead cam (SOHC) cylinder head engine that was rated at 112 hp.
