1.8-Liter engines: A large sum of the 1.8-liter engines manufactured by Mercedes-Benz in recent years has been under the M271 engine class. This class of inline 4-cylinder engines all have a cast aluminum block, dual overhead cam (DOHC) aluminum cylinder heads, and either sequential fuel injection or direct fuel injection.
M271 KE18ML - This version of the 1.8 Mercedes engine for sale used sequential fuel injection, forged steel connecting rods, and a supercharger with a corresponding intercooler. It was used as a 2003-2005 Mercedes CLK 200 engine, 2004-2005 Mercedes CLK 230 Kompressor engine, 2002-2007 Mercedes C 200 Kompressor engine, 2003-2009 Mercedes E 200 Kompressor engine, 2004-2011 Mercedes SLK 200 Kompressor engine, and a 2002-2007 Mercedes C 180 Kompressor engine. It was rated at 191 horsepower in most applications.
M271 DE18LA - This is known as the turbocharged version of the KE18ML motor. This 1.8 Mercedes engine features direct fuel injection and was rated at 154 hp from the factory. This 1.8-liter Mercedes engine was used in the 2010-2012 Mercedes C180, 2010-2015 Mercedes C 200, 2009-2015 Mercedes C250, 2009-2013 Mercedes E 200, 2009-2013 Mercedes E 250, 2011-2015 Mercedes SLK 200, and the 2011-2015 SLK 250.
