2.2-Liter Engines: Within the 2.2-liter engine size Honda Motor Company manufactured them in the F and H engine series. In the F series, there are the A, B, and C sub-series of engines but we will only be going over the most popular A and B sub-series of the Honda F class engines. Both the H and F class of Honda engines share similar characteristics and are both considered to be mostly performance-oriented. 

• F22A - This engine was first produced in 1990 and was used in the Honda Accord and Honda Prelude S. It has a single overhead cam (SOHC) cylinder head (non-VTEC) and an 8.8:1 compression ratio.
  
  
• F22A1 - The only difference between this engine and just the F22A is the tune. This engine produces anywhere from 125-135 hp and was used in the 1992-1996 Honda Accord as well as the 1992-1996 Honda Prelude S.
  
  
• F22B1 - Featured in the 1994-1997 Honda Accord and the 1997 Acura CL, this 2.2 Honda engine for sale had a compression ratio of 8.8:1, VTEC technology, and 145 hp from the factory.
  
  
• F22B2 - These 2.2-liter Honda engines were used in the 1994-1997 Honda Prelude as well as the 1995-1997 Honda Odyssey. It is a 16-valve single overhead cam (SOHC) cylinder head engine that has 8.8:1 compression and 130 hp at the crank.
  
  
• H22A1 - This was the first of the H series Honda engines ever produced and it was made for select 1991- 1996 Honda Preludes. It had a 10.0:1 compression ratio and produced 187 hp from the factory. This 2.2 Honda engine is still a sought-after part.
  
  
• H22A4 - Featured in the newer generation Honda Prelude, this engine was available from 1996-2001. This 2.2 Honda engine retained the 10.0:1 compression ratio but gained 8 hp to reach 195 hp through some extra tuning.
