ABOUT REMAN ENGINE

2.4-Liter Engines: The Chrysler 2.4 engine is an inline 4-cylinder engine that appeared in naturally aspirated as well as turbocharged applications. Different versions of the Dodge 2.4 engine were used in Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles between 1995 all the way up until the present day and spread themselves throughout nearly the entire lineup of vehicles they produce. 

  • EDZ - This Chrysler 2.4 engine was also labeled as a Chrysler Powertech engine. The first EDZ engines were the naturally aspirated alternatives to Chrysler’s 2.4-liter turbocharged engine which was also very common. Therefore, this engine was found in vehicles from 1995 all the way to 2010. In particular, this 2.4 engine was for sale in the 1995-2000 Chrysler Cirrus, 1995-2006 Chrysler Sebring, 1995-2006 Dodge Stratus, 1996-2007 Dodge Caravan, 1996-2000 Plymouth Voyager, 1996-2000 Plymouth Breeze, 2001-2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser engine, 2002-2005 Jeep Liberty, and 2003-2006 Jeep Wrangler. This engine produced approximately 150 hp in most applications that it was used for.

  • A855 (EDV / EDT) - The Chrysler 2.4 turbo engine was for sale in the 2003-2005 Dodge Neon SRT4, and the 2003-2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser engine (GT and Limited Editions only). This engine was also known as the Dodge 2.4 SRT4 motor or Dodge SRT4 engine. It had the engine code A855 but it was spread out into 2 different designations of EDV and EDT. This engine incorporated a cast iron block, aluminum cylinder heads with a 48-degree pent roof design, Mahlt cast eutectic aluminum alloy pistons, forged connecting rods, and a high-hardness steel crankshaft. Since this was a turbocharged engine the compression ratio was lowered to 8.1:1 compression. In most applications, this 2.4 Dodge engine produced 230 hp with 250lb-ft of torque in its stock form. It is to be noted that these engines are commonly modified to make much more horsepower than stock, especially the Dodge Neon SRT4 engine for sale.

  • 2.4 World - This 2.4 Chrysler engine was available in naturally aspirated and turbocharged applications alike. In its naturally aspirated nature, it produced 172 hp but produced a massive 285 hp in its turbocharged version. This naturally aspirated 2.4 Chrysler engine was put in the 2007-2010 Chrysler Sebring, 2011-2014 Chrysler 200, 2008-2014 Dodge Avenger, 2007-2011 Dodge Caliber, 2009-2020 Dodge Journey, 2007-2017 Jeep Compass, and 2007-2017 Jeep Patriot. The turbocharged SRT4 2.4 engine version was used as a 2007-2011 Dodge Caliber SRT4 engine for sale.

  • 2.4 Tigershark - This is the newest version of Chrysler Motor Company’s 2.4 engine for sale and it was labeled as the all-new Tigershark 2.4-liter engine. This engine utilizes variable valve timing (VVT), and variable valve lift (VVL), and has a compression ratio of 10.0:1. The 2.4 Tigershark is used as a 2013-2016 Dodge Dart engine, 2014-present Jeep Cherokee engine, 2015-2016 Chrysler 200 engine, 2015-present Jeep Renegade engine, 2015-present Ram ProMaster City engine, 2016-present Fiat 500x engine, 2017-present Jeep Compass engine, and 2017-present Fiat Toro engine. The 2.4-liter Tigershark engine produced approximately 184 hp from the factory.
