4.7-Liter Engines: The only 4.7-liter engines produced by Ford Motor Company are the 289 cubic inch V8 engines produced by Ford in the early to mid-1960s. These engines had the same stroke as the 260 CID engine it replaced but the bore was increased to 4 inches.
- 289 CID - The Ford 289 engine was for sale from 1963 to 1967 in the form of 2V and 4V configurations with most of them having a 9.0:1 compression. The engine has a few different code designations during its time which all added on upgrades to the original 289 motor: D-code (optional engine for the year 1964), K-code (otherwise known as the HiPo engine), C-code (optional engine for 1965 with increased compression to 9.3:1), and A-code (1965 option with 10.0:1 compression).
