3.0-Liter Engines: Subaru's most notable 3.0-liter engine is the flat-6 EZ series motor. The EZ engine series by Subaru included an all-aluminum design and dual overhead cam (DOHC) cylinder heads.
- EZ30D - There are essentially two variations of the EZ30D 3.0-liter V6 Subaru motor. The first version was used in the 2000-2004 Subaru Outback and 2002-2003 Subaru Legacy. It produced 217hp and had a 10.7:1 compression ratio. The first variant had 1 exhaust port per head, a cable throttle, and a cast aluminum intake coupled with variable intake geometry, and it only ever came paired with an automatic transmission.
