3.5-Liter engines: The Mercedes 3.5-liter V6 engine started with the M272 engine class in its 2006 debut. Later down the road, the 3.5-liter engine was given more love by the company as part of the 2010 unveiling of the M276 motor, which was initially introduced to the market as 2.8-liter, but towards the end of that production run saw it boosted to the 3.5-liter size. It was basically a new and improved M272 engine.

M272 E35 - This 3.5-liter Mercedes engine was used in the 2004-2011 Mercedes SLK 350, 2004-2010 Mercedes CLS 350, 2005-2010 Mercedes CLK 350, 2005-2011 Mercedes E 350, 2005-2011 Mercedes C 350, 2005-2011 Mercedes S 350, 2005-2012 Mercedes SL 350, 2006-2017 Mercedes R 350, 2006-2011 Mercedes ML 350, 2006-2013 Mercedes NCV3 Sprinter, 2008-2011 Mercedes CLC 350, 2008-2012 Mercedes GLK 350. This engine was rated anywhere from 288-302 horsepower and came in two different versions: the stratified-charged gasoline injection (CGI) and non-CGI versions.
M276 DE35 - This naturally aspirated all-aluminum direct-injected 3.5-liter engine with variable valve timing (VVT) made its debut in the 2011 model year and was used as a 2011-2013 Mercedes S 350 engine, 2011-2014 Mercedes E 300 BlueEfficiency engine, 2011-2014 Mercedes CLS 350 BlueEfficiency engine, 2011-2014 Mercedes C 350 engine, 2011-2014 Mercedes C 300 engine, 2012-2016 Mercedes E 350 BlueEfficiency engine, 2012-2016 Mercedes E 400 Hybrid engine, 2012-2015 Mercedes ML 350 BlueEfficiency engine, 2012-2015 Mercedes GLK 350 BlueEfficiency engine, 2013-2015 Mercedes GLK 350 engine, 2013-2017 Mercedes S 400 Hybrid engine, and a 2011-2015 Mercedes SLK 350 BlueEfficiency engine. This engine came with a compression ratio of 12.2:1 and a horsepower rating of 248-302 hp depending on the year and the application.
M276 DE35 AL - This version of the 3.5 Mercedes M276 engine is equipped with the same IHI twin turbochargers that were utilized on the M276 DE30 LA engine and produced the same power of 362 hp. It can be found in the 2015-2017 Mercedes S 400, 2015-2018 Mercedes E 400, and 2015-2017 Mercedes CLS 400.
