3.7 Liter Engines: There have been many 3.7-liter engines made by Nissan in the past. The only 3.7-liter engine that is currently in use is the VQ37VHR engine. This engine was the first production engine made by Nissan using Nissan's variable valve event and lift technology. High oil consumption and engine overheating are two common problems with this engine.
- VQ37VHR This engine is rated at approximately 332 hp from the factory and was the replacement of the 3.5-liter high-revving VQ35HR engine. The Nissan 3.7 engine has a compression ratio of 11:0:1 along with a redline of 7500 RPM. It is used in the 2008-2014 Infiniti G37, 2009-2013 Infiniti FX37, 2009-present Nissan 370Z, 2011-2013 Infiniti M37, 2015 Infiniti Q40, 2014-2015 Infiniti Q50, 2014-2016 Infiniti Q60, 2014-present Infiniti Q70, 2014-2017 Infiniti QX50, and the 2014-2017 Infiniti QX70.
