3.8-Liter Engines: Mitsubishi only ever produced one 3.8-liter engine for use in their production vehicles and this was the largest engine that they manufactured. This engine falls within the 6G7 Mitsubishi engine series.
- 6G75 - Found in the 2003-2021 Mitsubishi Montero, 2004-2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor, 2004-2009 Mitsubishi Galant, and the 2006-2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse this 3.8-liter V6 engine was rated at approximately anywhere from 215-275 hp. It uses aluminum single overhead cam (SOHC) cylinder heads, and forged steel connecting rods, and some versions used Mitsubishi’s variable valve timing (VVT) technology, MIVEC. The MIVEC versions of this engine have a compression ratio of 10.5:1 while the non-MIVEC engines have a 10.0:1 compression ratio.
