2.4-Liter-Engines: Within the 2.4-liter engine size Hyundai Motor Company has engines built in the Theta and Sirius engine classes. These engines also vary between single overhead cam (SOHC) and dual overhead cam (DOHC) configurations but they are all 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engines.

• G4CS - A single overhead cam (SOHC) engine with a horsepower rating of 128 hp and was used in the 1986-1998 Hyundai Grandeur and the 1988-1991 Hyundai Sonata.
• G4JS - Version of the 2.4-liter Hyundai engine for sale with multi-point fuel injection and a compression ratio of 10.0:1. It should also be mentioned that this engine had forged steel connecting rods. It was put into the Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Sonata, 2000-2005 Kia Optima, and the Kia Sorento.
• G4KE - Featured multi-point fuel injection, 10.3:1 compression, and a horsepower rating of 177 hp. This 2.4 Hyundai engine was used as a 2013-2016 Hyundai Azera engine, 2008-2011 Hyundai Grandeur engine, 2010-2020 Hyundai Santa Fe engine, 2007-2019 Hyundai Sonata engine, 2010-2020 Hyundai Tucson engine, 2009-2019 Kia Cadenza engine, 2008-2012 Kia Forte engine, 2008-2019 Kia Optima engine, 2008-2013 Kia Rondo engine, 2011-2021 Kia Sportage engine, and a 2009-2020 Kia Sorento engine.
• G4KJ - This 2.4 Hyundai engine had direct fuel injection and a compression ratio of 11.3:1 to give it a rating of 200 horsepower. It was used in the 2011-2019 Hyundai Azera, 2012-2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2009-2019 Hyundai Sonata, 2015-2020 Hyundai Tucson, 2011-2019 Kia Cadenza, 2010-2019 Kia Sportage, and the 2014-2020 Kia Sorento.
• G4KK - This was the Atkinson Cycle hybrid version of the Hyundai 2.4-liter engine. It has a compression ratio of 13.0:1 and multi-point fuel injection to give it 169 hp at the crank. It is used in the Hyundai Azera from 2013 till the present day and the Kia Cadenza from 2013 to 2021.
